Released January 19 2010 this 12 is essential. I remember hearing Starkey drop ‘Skull Crusher’ for the first time early this year, bringing Numan (myspace) to my attention. I have no doubt that he’ll be appearing in countless ‘artist to watch’ features in the coming weeks and rightly so. Although this track may not be representative of his current output it’s right on the money. Newcomer SDUK’s (myspace) ‘Clunge’ on the flip brings the bassweight in equal measure as he hits the ground running. Starkey et al. prove once again that they’re ahead of the curve with this release and there’s plenty more to look out for on both the Slit Jockey and Seclusiasis imprints in 2010.
